Money Back Guarantee - The Sword Vol.1 - Fire

BSI Comics, Comics, Uncategorized 1 Comment

If you like your stories with over the top violence and a story 4,000 years in the making then I’d like to introduce you to the Luna Brothers “Sword” from Image comics. Do not be fooled by the meager description on the back of this tome,

It was a day like any other for Dara Brighton, a promising young college student, until three powerful strangers knocked on her door, looking for a mysterious powerful sword. During their search, they brutally murdered her family and destroyed her life. But Dara’s journey has just begun.

Spoiler Warning:

The three strangers turn out to be gods and Dara’s father is 4,000 years old. His possession of the sword has kept him young and his sole purpose over four millennium has been to keep these gods in check. If you like your action and violence over the top, but with a compelling story then The Sword is for you.

End Spoiler.

For a limited time we are puting our Money Back Guarantee behind the first volume of The Sword trade paperback. If you don’t like it, just bring it back and we’ll exchange it for something else, no questions asked (other than what it was you didn’t like).

Way, better than I thought.

As many of you know, when it comes to comics I tend to follow writers more than artists. One of the writers I avoid like the plague is Daniel Way. I couldn’t bear to finish his stories on Ghost Rider and Wolverine Origins. So, it almost pains me to say it, but I like Daniel Way’s Deadpool. Deadpool, the merc with a mouth, has been due for a series since the cancellation of Cable and Deadpool and the new series does not disappoint. The first three issues are a Secret Invasion tie-in full of the typical Deadpool banter as well as a new split personality. The new Deadpool is like all of the Three Stooges rolled into one badass assassin. If you are looking for something fun to read then be sure to check out the new issue of Deadpool (#4) on sale tomorrow (11/19/2008). Oh, and we have a money back guarantee on the first issue!

From Suicide Squad to the Secret Six, Thunderbolts and Venom, over the years a lot of super-villains have broken free from their heroic nemesis and starred in series of their own. This week, the Showcase boys talk about some of the villains who have become stars in their own right, why some villain series work better than others, what makes a good villain comic, and which heroes they think could star in a title of their own. In the picks this week, Chase has found the Marvel Comics Guide to New York City and She-Hulk #34, while Blake was pleasantly surprised by the first issue of the Terra miniseries!
