Before it starts, YES I know I’m not using the word lagniappe properly.  Sue me.

Anyway…

Listening to Walton and Johnson this morning I discovered that apparently actor Josh Brolin is cheating on his wife Diane Lane with a New Orleans girl.  My first thought was ‘what kind of moron cheats on someone as hot as Diane Lane?’  I mean… did you see that crappy Richard Gere film?  *Whoo.*  My second thought was who the frak is Josh Brolin?   But thats not what I’m writing about.

Apparently Brolin is in NOLA shooting the Jonah Hex film.   For those not in the know, Jonah Hex is a decades old DC property of a grizzled and scarred gun fighter in the ‘Old West’.  His current series is written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray.   Hex is the most popular of DC’s old west characters, but he isn’t the only one.  There are a few that don’t merit mentioning.

It’s an odd thing though.  New Orleans isn’t known for its tales of Gunfighters in the Old West in spite of our involvement in the Civil War.  Plus, is Brolin really the right guy to play someone who looks like this?
