Doom vs Osborn

Just saw this teaser image on IGN’s Comic site.  It seems as though the  Dark Reign era will go out with a bang as the so-called Cabal implodes in on itself.

Namor is absent from the events, having sided with the X-men on their new island, Utopia. Similarly, the White Queen has taken her place beside Cyclops. Seen here is Doom and Loki vs Osborn, the Hood and Taskmaster.

Doom was last seen in the pages of the Fantastic Four, having killed his master, the Marquis of Death.  He received a significant power upgrade in the story, though it is unknown whether Marvel will simply ret-con the poorly received story.

Perhaps most noteworthy of all is the image of Loki.  Since being reborn in the monthly Thor comic, Loki had returned as a woman.  Here Loki seems to have returned to his original gender and physique.  Could this be a sign of upcoming events, or is this merely a mistake on artist David Finch’s part?

Whatever the case, this unnamed book and story are due out in December.
