As many of you may have seen or heard from local news sources, the NFL has sent various strongly worded cease and desist letters to local vendors claiming that they, the NFL, own the phrase ‘Who Dat.’ Now, I know this isn’t comic book related, but when local businesses come under attack by large corporations, and with such callousness, it’s time to stand together in solidarity.
Part of what makes our local community so resilient is our sense of charity and unity. Seems clear to us that ‘Who Dat’ is not the property of the NFL. As a matter of fact, I challenge any suit at the NFL to explain the phrase to us.
